Shifting Times: Reflections on China

Born in Heilongjiang Province, China in 1996, FU moved to Shenzhen with his parents when he was 9 years old. Graduated from Beijing Film Academy with a bachelor's degree in photography and a master's degree in documentary directing.

Ocean CHIN graduated from FAMU in 2016. He was selected for the 10th Golden Horse Film Academy, and has worked as a DP on many feature and short films. “A Year Apart” is his first directing work which was nominated best short film in Molodist KIFF and Taipei FF. Be awarded “Best Film” in 86358 Jia’s Village Film Week, and “special mentioned award” in Chinese Film Festival Hamburg. Presented in Kerala and some great Chinese film festival such as Mulan, Singapore etc.

Born in 1992, he left his hometown at 14 to pursue his studies in Beijing. A graduate of the National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts with a major in acting, he has also worked as a script supervisor, production manager, DIT, and editor. This is his debut film.

REN Honglin was born in Chongqing, China, an independent director、screenwriter. Selected for the 2024 Golden Horse Film Academy、2024 top 20 director of Shanhai Project.

Viv Li is a Berlin-based Chinese filmmaker and artist. She is an alumna of the Sundance Institute, Berlinale Talents, Chicken & Eggs, Nipkow Fellowship and IDFAcademy, among others. Viv holds an MA in Documentary Filmmaking from DocNomads and a BA in Drama and Film from the University of Manchester. Born and raised in Beijing, she has spent the last 14 years of her life living in different countries in Europe, South America and Asia, giving her a distinct perspective on cultural and artistic boundaries. Her work often deals with alienation, migration and identity, and focuses on the sensitivity and tangibility of moments, the unspeakable nature of human relationships and the humor produced by self-awareness.
